Canadian nationals visiting Singapore are required to have a Singapore Electronic Arrival Card  to gain entry to Singapore.

The SG Arrival Card is available for Canadian citizens visiting Singapore for a short stay of up to 30 days.

To successfully receive a Singapore Electronic Arrival Card online, you must follow the requirements for Canadian citizens.

What is the SG Arrival Card for Canada?

Singapore implemented its Arrival Card online system, also known as the SG Arrival Card, to replace the paper-based Disembarkation/Embarkation Card.

The visa policy for Singapore outlines the visa requirements for foreign nationals visiting Singapore. It states that every foreign national must be in possession of an SG Arrival Card.

This electronic document authorizes Canadian holders a single entry into Singapore for up to 30 consecutive days. The moment you leave Singapore borders you cannot re-enter the country using the same Singapore Electronic Arrival Card.

Canadians must note the SG Arrival Card is not a visa. Any traveler wishing to remain in the country for more than 30 days requires a visa in addition to the SG Arrival Card.

Do Canadians Need a Visa to Enter Singapore?

All travelers from Canada staying in Singapore for more than 30 days must have a visa.

It is recommended that they visit the Singaporean consulates in Vancouver or Toronto to find out more about the specific visas available to them and their conditions.

How to Apply for a Singapore Electronic Arrival Card as a Canadian

Citizens of Canada are required to fill in and submit the application form for an SG Arrival Card prior to traveling to Singapore.

The form takes minutes to complete, is easy to submit, and requires the following from Canadian applicants:

  • Personal data (full name, date and place of birth, etc.)
  • Passport details (number, issuance and expiry date)
  • Travel information (arrival and departure date, proof of accommodation)

Canadian nationals must pay the SG Arrival Card processing fee via a debit or credit card.

The Singapore Electronic Arrival Card Online application form is entirely online, so there is no requirement to visit an embassy or consulate in person.

Once the application for an SG Arrival Card is approved, it is linked electronically to the Canadian passport. Therefore, Canadians must travel with the same passport used during the application process.
