The Nepal Tourist Visa is an electronic visa introduced by the government of Nepal in 2014 to remove the need to wait in long border lines to submit a Nepal visa on arrival application or obtain a travel document from an embassy.
It facilitates entry to the country for tourism and purposes such as sightseeing, mountaineering, trekking, and visiting friends and family.
An approved Nepal online visa allows multiple entries to the country, for stays of 15, 30, or 90 days per entry depending on the traveler’s individual needs. It is valid for 6 months from the date of arrival in Nepal.
To apply for a Nepal eVisa, it is simply necessary to complete the online Nepal visa application form. This can be filled out in a matter of minutes by entering basic personal and contact information, passport data, and travel details.
Applicants will also need to upload supporting documents in digital format and pay an eVia fee before they can submit their Nepal visa application online.
An electronic Nepal travel visa is usually processed within 2 weeks. Once approved, the traveler is sent their approved eVisa receipt via email. This is valid to enter Nepal for 15 days from the date of issue.
Those who wish to obtain a Nepal visa for purposes other than tourism, for example for business activities or to work or study in the country, should contact their nearest Nepalese embassy or consulate for further information.
