Visa Policy for Cambodia
The Cambodian visa policy defines which foreign travelers need a visa to visit Cambodia and which visas are required in each situation. The purpose of travel and the nationality of the visitor affect the entry requirements.
The majority of travelers require a Cambodia visa to enter the country — less than 10 nationalities are exempt from visa requirements for short visits.
There are a number of different types of visa for Cambodia depending on purpose and duration of the intended stay in the country.
Visitors from around 220 different countries can apply online for an electronic visa (eVisa) for Cambodia. This involves completing a simple form via the internet.
The Cambodia eVisa can be used to visit the country as a tourist and allows the holder to spend up to 30 days in the Southeast Asian nation.
Foreign nationals from a small number of countries cannot obtain an eVisa but can apply for a visa on arrival in Cambodia, although this involves waiting in a queue at the border
Less than 10 nationalities must apply for a consular visa in person at a Cambodian overseas diplomatic mission (e.g. an embassy) for any kind of visit. This includes short-term stays for the purpose of tourism.
All travelers, regardless of nationality, require a type of long-term consular visa or permit in order to spend more than 30 days in Cambodia or to relocate and/or work in the country. These can only be obtained from a Royal Cambodian Embassy.
