Ekaterina Powell is a U.S. attorney licensed in the State of California, working in the area of U.S. immigration law. She has over 12 years of work experience working on a variety of cases, including family-based, investment-based, and employment-based immigration matters.

Ms. Powell has received several awards and recognitions in the field, including being featured as "Best Immigration Lawyers in San Diego 2022" by Expertise.com, "Top 10 Immigration Law Firms 2023" by Manage HR Magazine, being named as "Top 40 Immigration Lawyers under 40 in California" by the American Society of Legal Advocates (ASLA), among others.

Ms. Powell is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. She has produced a number of articles on immigration law, many of which can be found on the practice’s site and ILW blog. She has also written for VOICE: An Immigration Dialogue, the publication of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Mauricio Torres

Mauricio Torres is a U.S. attorney licensed in the State of California, specializing in immigration and citizenship law. He obtained his Law Degree from the National University of Colombia. He then earned a Master of Laws (LLM) from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University.

While in law school, Mr. Torres spent considerable time volunteering at the Legal Aid Clinic Jaime Pardo Leal in Bogota, Colombia, assisting victims of domestic violence, and employment and child custody cases. For his outstanding public service in the Legal Aid Clinic and as a law clerk to the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court of Colombia, Mr. Torres received the Shawn Bentley Public Service Award from the J. Reuben Clark Law Society—Washington D.C. Chapter.

Having gone through several consular interviews and visa applications himself, Mr. Torres understands the difficult processes many immigrants have to go through, which allows him to help others navigate the immigration system. Mr. Torres is fluent in English and Spanish.
