New Zealanders are authorized to depart for Canada once they receive their approved eTA. They must note that since the eTA is electronically linked to their passport, they are not obliged to print out a copy.
Travelers must ensure they travel to Canada with the same passport they used during their application process. This is especially important for New Zealanders with dual nationality and more than one passport.
If the original passport was misplaced or stolen between the moment the eTA was issued and the travel dates, you must apply for a new eTA, registering it to your new passport.
Travelers from New Zealand must simply submit their passports at the departure gates before boarding their flights. Once they reach Canada, their passports will be digitally scanned at border control before entering the country.
It is imperative to have an eTA granted before departing since airline staff will not allow New Zealand travelers to board their flights without it.
