Zambia Tourist Visa Information

The Zambia e-Visa is an electronic visa introduced by the Zambian government in 2014 in order to remove the need to wait in long border queues for a visa on arrival or visit a diplomatic mission to submit a Zambia visa application in person.

Eligible citizens are able to obtain a Zambia visa online for either tourism, business, or transit purposes. The online Zambia visa permits a total stay of 90 days in the Southern African Republic and is valid for 3 months for entry from the date of approval.

To apply for the e-Visa for Zambia, it is necessary to fill in the simple online Zambia visa application form with basic personal, passport, and travel details, and upload a few supporting documents before the request can be processed.

The Zambia e-Visa is usually quickly processed, within 3-5 business days, and once approved is sent to the traveler via email. They are then able to print a copy to present alongside their passport upon arrival.

To visit Zambia for longer periods of permitted stay or for purposes such as to work or study, it is necessary to contact the nearest Zambian embassy or consulate for further information.

Online Zambia tourist visa requirements state that the applicant must have a:

  • Passport with a minimum validity of 6 months from the date of arrival in Zambia
  • Current email address to which the e-Visa approval will be sent.

It may also be necessary to supply some additional supporting documents depending on nationality and if the applicant requests a Zambia business visa.
