Visa Requirements for Slovenian Citizens
Visa requirements for citizens of Slovenia are administrative entry restrictions that the authorities of countries and territories around the world place on nationals of the Eastern European country. At present, the Henley Passport Index ranks the Slovenian passport 11th among the passports of the world in terms of travel freedom, tied with the passport of Latvia.
Slovenian nationals are granted visa exemption or access with a visa on arrival to roughly 130 countries worldwide. Of these destinations, around 110 permit Slovenians either unlimited freedom of movement or short-term visa-free stays if they present either a valid passport (or national ID card in some cases) at an immigration checkpoint.
To visit these same countries for long-term stays, an embassy visa for Slovenian citizens obtained from a diplomatic government office of the destination is required. It is also necessary to obtain a visa from an embassy to visit up to 75 territories around the globe no matter the period of intended stay.
However, there are now approximately 40 global destinations that have introduced an Electronic Travel Visa Authorization for citizens of Slovenia. These expedited application protocols are simple and straightforward and allow you to obtain a digital visa waiver or eVisa exclusively online.
Electronic Travel Authorizations and eVisas for Slovenians may permit either a single entry or multiple entries depending on the country of issue. They most often permit temporary stays for either tourism, transit, or business and trade activities.
