Visa Requirements for Polish Citizens
The visa requirements for citizens of Poland are administrative entry restrictions set by the authorities of countries around the world. In terms of freedom of travel, the Polish passport is ranked 11th according to the Henley Passport Index.
Poland belongs to the European Union as well as the Schengen Area. This means that it has signed the Schengen Agreement for passport-free travel, and so Polish citizens can travel to all of the other 25 Schengen countries visa-free for an unlimited period by simply presenting a valid National ID Card.
In total, Polish citizens can travel to more than 110 countries without the need to obtain a visa, for varying periods of stay, between 14 to 180 days, depending on the destination.
Visa-exempt travel for Polish citizens is usually permitted for purposes of tourism, business or to transit to an onward destination.
Roughly 20 countries offer the option to obtain a visa on arrival for Polish citizens at border control points, although this often involves waiting in long immigration queues to submit an application.
Other visa-required countries require Polish nationals to obtain a visa before traveling, either through an embassy or consulate, or by applying for a visa online.
Regardless of whether they need a visa or not, Polish citizens are usually required to have a passport valid for between 3 to 6 months from the date of entry to their destination.
