Visa requirements for citizens of Madagascar are administrative entry restrictions set by authorities of other states.
The Malagasy passport is considered the 91st in terms of travel freedom according to the Henley Passport Index. There are currently around 45 countries across the world which Malagasy citizens can access with visa on arrival or without obtaining a visa.
Since there are countries and territories that are exempt from visa others that require special permits or visas, it is recommended that citizens of Madagascar check visa requirements before planning their trip to a foreign country.
Each country’s visa requirements for citizens of Madagascar may be different depending on the amount of time they want to spend in the territory and the purpose of the visit.
Visa-exempt territories for Malagasy nationals permit travelers to enter the country without the need for a visa. This stay can be for tourism, business, or transit purposes with a period of time that can vary between 21 and 180 days.
However, visitors who want to stay in the destination country for longer periods of stay or for purposes other than those discussed above need a visa.
