VoAs may only be available at certain airports, seaports, and land border crossings. Colombian travelers should check which entry points issue visas when planning their trip.

Citizens of Colombia can get a visa on arrival in over 20 different destinations.

Visas on arrival for Colombian nationals typically permit short visits for tourism, although in some cases, other purposes of visit are allowed.

The longest that a Colombian visitor can stay in a foreign country with a visa on arrival ranges from 7 to 120 days, depending on the state or territory in question.

There are often long waiting times at border control to apply for a VoA. Colombians may have to pay the visa fee in cash in the local currency.

In addition, travelers from Colombia are advised to ensure they bring all the necessary supporting documents for the visa on arrival. If there is any sort of problem with the application, the Colombian passenger may be denied entry to the country and will have to return home.

Freedom of Movement for Colombians in Mercosur

Colombia is a member of Mercosur (the Southern Common Market). As such, its citizens have the right to travel to the other full members and associate members without a visa. They may visit for up to 90 days (up to 183 days in the case of Peru).
