Visa Requirements for Cambodian Citizens
Visa requirements for citizens of Cambodia are entry restrictions imposed on Cambodian passport holders by the authorities of other territories across the world.
The visa requirements for nationals of Cambodia depends on the purpose of the visit, the destination country, and the time the traveler plans to spend in the chosen territory.
Cambodia’s passport is currently ranked 88th in terms of freedom of travel by the Henley Passport Index. As Cambodia is part of ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations), Cambodian citizens have visa-fee access to countries that are part of this group.
In total, Cambodian citizens are currently able to visit up to 45 countries without the need to obtain a visa or by applying for a visa on arrival in the destination country.
Many visa-exempt countries for Cambodian citizens permit travelers to cross their borders simply by presenting a valid passport. The period of allowed stay may be between 14 days and 6 month depending on the destination, for tourism, business, or transit purposes.
Some visa-free countries for Cambodian nationals may require the traveler to request a special permit or some type of specific document, such as the TTP permit to visit Tibet or the OIVR to visit the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Province in Eastern Tajikistan.
Other countries may require travelers to pre-register for an electronic travel authorization before departure from Cambodia, in order to pre-assess any health or security risks.
Cambodian passport holders who wish to visit countries that do not need a visa for purposes such as to work or study, or for longer stays, must obtain a visa to travel to their destination.
This may either be requested through the nearest embassy or consulate of the country the traveler wants to visit, through an online electronic visa application or by applying for a visa on arrival at a border immigration checkpoint. This also applies to all Cambodian citizens who wish to visit countries that require a visa.
