Visa Policy for Zimbabwe
The visa policy of Zimbabwe determines which counties do not need a visa for Zimbabwe and who may enter the Southern African Republic with an approved visa.
At present, roughly 40 nationalities may enter Zimbabwe visa-free for stays up to 90 days simply by presenting a valid passport upon arrival at border checkpoints of the country. The majority of these visa-exempt citizens are passport holders of other Southern and Central African countries.
All other foreign citizens, over 200 nationalities worldwide, need one of the different visa types for Zimbabwe no matter the duration of expected stay or intended purpose of travel.
Of these nationalities, up to 55 are able to obtain an eVisa for Zimbabwe through a simple application form which only takes minutes to complete, to receive an approved electronic visa sent via email.
This online program is considered the most efficient way to apply for a travel visa for Zimbabwe and eliminates the need to wait in long border queues to obtain a Zimbabwe visa on arrival or submit an embassy visa application in person.
An approved online Zimbabwe visitors visa may be issued as an eVisa for either tourism, business, or transit purposes and permits varying short stays in the Republic depending on the type of visa selected.
To visit the country for longer stays and other purposes such as to work or study, it is necessary for eVisa eligible citizens to apply for a Zimbabwe visa from an embassy. Additionally, over 45 nationalities must apply for an embassy visa from a diplomatic government office regardless of their intended period of stay or travel purpose.
At present, there are not currently any Zimbabwe visa bans in place against any foreign nationals.
