Visa Policy for Tunisia
On this page you will be able to find a complete explanation of the visa policy of Tunisia, which outlines the requirements that all foreign nationals need to meet to be able to travel to the country.
The visa requirements established for foreign travelers depend on nationality, as well as the length of the visit and the purpose of the stay.
Tunisian visa policy currently states that there are around 100 nationalities which can travel to the country without a visa, if they are planning to spend short periods of time in the country for tourism purposes.
However, all other foreign nationals need a visa for Tunisia in order to travel to the country, no matter the purpose or length of the intended visit.
A visa on arrival for Tunisia, valid for a single entry stay of up to 15 days, is only available for travelers who hold a valid residence permit issued by a Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member state.
All other passport holders are required to apply for an embassy visa from the nearest Tunisian government diplomatic office well in advance of their intended date of arrival.
This embassy visa requirement also applies to visa-exempt nationals who are planning a longer stay in Tunisia than allowed without a visa or who wish to visit for purposes other than tourism, such as to work, study, or become a resident.
However, the process of obtaining a Tunisia visa is expected to become easier for a number of foreign citizens in the near future, as the government of Tunisia has announced the upcoming implementation of an online visa application form.
The Tunsia eVisa application will allow select nationalities to obtain an electronic tourist visa by completing a simple online form, eliminating the need to apply in person from an embassy or consulate.
