The visa policy of Georgia determines which countries do not need a visa for Georgia and who may enter the country with a valid visa or travel authorization.
At present, travelers from over 90 countries worldwide do not need a visa for Georgia for periods of stay between 90 days up to 1 year depending on their nationality.
The majority of visa-free visitors are required to present a valid passport to gain entry without a visa, although some nationalities are simply required to present a valid national ID.
Over 100 foreign passport holders are able to obtain an electronic visa for Georgia through a simple online application form, eliminating the need to visit a diplomatic government office in person to submit a visa application.
An eVisa for Georgia is issued as a multiple entry visa and allows stays of 90 days within every 180-day period, or 30 days within every 120-day period, depending on the traveler’s nationality.
To visit Georgia for longer periods of permitted stay, it is necessary to apply for a visa from the nearest Georgian embassy or consulate in person. Additionally, citizens of roughly 50 countries must obtain an embassy visa for Georgia regardless of the time they plan to stay, or whether they require a tourist visa, student visa, business visa, or other visa option.
