Foreign tourists are required to pre-register for an EASE authorization for Cabo Verde at least 5 business days before the intended arrival in the country. The simple online form only takes a few minutes to complete.

It should be noted that pre-registering for an EASE does not guarantee entry into Cape Verde. Tourists arriving with an approved EASE Travel Authorization may be asked to show immigration officials proof of sufficient funds to cover the entire stay before they are allowed to enter the country, as well as proof of a confirmed accommodation booking.

Airport Security Tax (TSA) for Cape Verde

Cape Verde immigration policy states that all visitors arriving by air are required to pay an Airport Security Tax (TSA). However, infants under the age of 2 and those ordinarily resident in the Republic are exempt. This tax is charged on international and domestic flights alike.

The TSA for Cape Verde was introduced to cover the costs of services provided to air passengers. It is also intended to cover the cost of resources used in border security measures.

The cost of the TSA is 3,400 CVE (37 USD) for international flights, and the payment can be made at the moment of submitting an EASE registration online. Alternatively, the TSA can be paid on arrival at an airport in Cape Verde using either local cash currency or by credit or debit card.

However, an extra charge applies if the TSA is paid at the border. The price of the TSA for domestic flights is 150 CVE (approximately 2 USD) and is charged when the traveler purchases their airline ticket.
