Visa Policy for Cape Verde
The visa policy of Cape Verde determines who may enter the island country off the coast of Africa and which foreign citizens need a visa for the Republic of Cabo Verde.
At present, citizens of up to 200 countries worldwide do not need a visa for Cape Verde for varying periods of short-term stay depending on their nationality. However, they are required to pre-register online for the EASE for Cape Verde, an Electronic Travel Authorization, if arriving by air and for purposes other than transit.
This electronic visa waiver was implemented to remove the need to wait in long border queues to apply for a visa on arrival for Cabo Verde. It allows travelers to gain expedited entry at immigration control checkpoints in the island country.
The Cape Verde EASE registration form only takes a few minutes to fill in with basic passport, personal, and travel details. The passport used to register must have a minimum validity of at least 6 months beyond the duration of the intended stay. Holders of an approved EASE authorization are permitted a stay of between 30 and 90 days depending on their nationality.
To visit Cape Verde for longer periods of stay, it will be necessary to obtain a visa from the nearest diplomatic government office of the Republic of Cabo Verde. Additionally, roughly 45 nationalities must apply for a Cape Verde embassy visa no matter the expected duration of their stay or the purpose of the visit.
There are not currently any Cape Verde visa bans in place for any foreign nationality.
