Singapore has an online Arrival Card system, which replaces the previous Disembarkation/Embarkation Card paper card.

All travelers visiting Singapore must have a Singapore Electronic Arrival Card to gain authorization to enter the country, including NZ visitors.

What is the SG Arrival Card for NZ Nationals?

The visa policy for Singapore states that every foreign national visiting Singapore should be in possession of an SG Arrival Card. This document permits NZ holders a single-entry stay in Singapore of up to 90 days.

One of the key benefits of having an SG Arrival Card is that this electronic system speeds up arrival at border control by avoiding the need to queue.

Note: The SG Arrival Card is not a visa, and does not replace a visa when visiting from New Zealand.

Do NZ Citizens Need a Visa to Travel to Singapore?

New Zealand nationals do not need a visa to enter Singapore, as long as their stay does not surpass 90 days. However, they do need to apply for the SG Arrival Card to gain legal access to the country.

Any NZ citizen traveling to Singapore for more than 90 days needs a Singapore visa in addition to the SG Arrival Card. These visitors can visit the Singaporean consulate in Wellington to request a visa for their trip.

Application Steps to Obtain a Singapore Arrival Card as a NZ Citizen

You should fill in and submit the application form for an SG Arrival Card before you travel to Singapore.

NZ citizens are required to submit the following data when completing the Singapore online form:

  • Basic personal information: full name, contact details, and place/date of birth
  • Details from their passport: expiry date and passport number
  • Data about their travel plans in Singapore: arrival date and proof of onward travel, and a health declaration

New Zealand citizens check their answers carefully before sending the SG form since mistakes cannot be edited once it is submitted. Errors and incomplete information can lead to delays when processing the Singapore Electronic Arrival Card from NZ.

The Electronic Arrival Card application form is online, meaning there is no requirement to visit an embassy or consulate in person. The form takes minutes to complete and is easy to submit.

Once it is approved, the SG Arrival Card is linked electronically to your passport.

Requirements for a Singapore Electronic Arrival Card for New Zealanders

Any NZ travelers planning to visit Singapore should familiarize themselves with the visa policy for NZ citizens before beginning the application form.

NZ passport holders require the following documents and information in order to successfully apply:

  • New Zealander passport. It should be valid for at least  6 months from your date of arrival in Singapore.
  • Valid visa or debit card to pay the SG Arrival Card fee
  • Email address. This is required to send the Singapore SG Arrival Card once it is approved.

A valid Singapore Electronic Arrival Card, also known as the SG Arrival Card, is mandatory to gain permission to enter Singapore.

How will I receive my SG Electronic Arrival Card as a New Zealander?

A SG Arrival Card application is usually processed within 24-48 hours. A notification will be sent to your email address to let you know of the approval of the document.

You must use your Arrival Card to enter Singapore within 3 days of receiving the approved document.

Your Singapore Electronic Arrival Card is linked electronically to your NZ passport. If the passport is lost, damaged, or stolen before your trip to Singapore, you will need to apply again to obtain a new SG Arrival Card.

On arrival in Singapore, you will be asked to show the passport used to apply for your SG Arrival Card.  You may also need to present other key travel documents, depending on your case (Singapore visa, yellow fewer certificate, and proof of accommodation).
