Russia e-visa Information

The Russia e-visa is an electronic visa type which allows eligible citizens to travel to destinations throughout Russia for short stays.

The Russian government has implemented the electronic visa system in order to expedite the process of applying for a visa to travel to the country.

Previously, e-visas were only issued for select regions of the Russian Federation: St. Petersburg and Leningrad, Kaliningrad, and the Russian Far East, and did not permit travel outside the borders of these areas.

However, these have been replaced by a Russia-wide e-visa that permits access to the entire country.

This online Russia visa allows the traveler to visit the country for tourism, business purposes, to visit friends or relatives in Russia, or to attend certain events.

These include cultural, economic, scientific, socio-political, and sporting events.

An approved e-visa to visit Russia is a single entry visa which grants a total stay of 16 days. E-visas for Russia are valid for 60 days to enter the country from the date of approval.

Eligible citizens are able to obtain an electronic visa for Russia through the simple e-visa Russia application form, which only takes a few minutes to fill in.

Applicants are required to complete the online Russia visa application form with basic personal, passport, and travel information, and answer a few security-related questions to receive an approved e-visa for Russia sent via email.

An approved e-visa for Russia allows the holder to enter the Russian Federation by air, land, sea, and river at select airports, seaports, and land border checkpoints across the entire country.

In order to visit the country for other purposes or longer periods of stay, it is necessary to contact a Russian embassy or consulate for further information.
