The Papua New Guinea eVisa (PNG eVisa) is an electronic visa that grants entry to the country for eligible travelers and is obtained by completing a simple online form.

There are several types of eVisa for Papua New Guinea that may be granted for different purposes.

Visitor visas permit a foreign national to travel to Papua New Guinea for tourism, leisure, social reasons, or visiting friends or relatives.

Applicants can select either a 30-day or a 60-day visitor PNG eVisa.

Papua New Guinea eVisa Requirements

In order to obtain a Papua New Guinea eVisa, applicants must meet the necessary requirements.

Travelers must be from an eligible country to apply online for a PNG visa.

Applicants are required to fill in an online application form with their details and provide the following items:

  • Passport issued by an eligible sovereign state with a minimum of 6 months’ validity from the date of arrival in the country and at least one page for a PNG entry stamp
  • Copy of the bio data page of the passport
  • Active email account to receive the eVisa
  • Payment method (credit or debit card)

For an online business visa or Restricted Employment Visa, a letter from a business associate in Papua New Guinea verifying the purpose of visit, intended frequency and duration of stay, and the place where the traveler will be conducting business/working is also required.

The passport that is used to complete the Papua New Guinea visa application form online must be presented at border control along with the eVisa in order to enter the country.

If the passport used to apply is lost, stolen, damaged, or otherwise made invalid, the traveler should reapply using their new passport.
