HandyVisasAzerbaijan has been increasing in popularity as a tourist destination in recent years.
Last year saw Azerbaijan welcome a record-breaking 2.8 million visitors, an increase of 5.7% on the previous year. One in ten of these visitors came from Gulf states such as Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain.
A new tourism brand has been created to build on this increase in visitors and further promote Azerbaijan as an attractive destination. As part of these measures, the country is now offering a multi-entry eVisa for eligible foreign citizens.
Single-entry eVisas for Azerbaijan have already been available for a few years for citizens of 94 eligible countries including UK, Canada, US, Germany, Brazil, and China. These electronic visas allow visitors to stay in the country for up to 30 consecutive days.
The new multiple-entry eVisas will enable visitors to stay for up to 180 days and enter Azerbaijan multiple times. There had previously been cases of confusion in which foreign nationals had expected to be able to re-enter Azerbaijan on their eVisa after visiting a neighboring country, only to be declined entry by the immigration services.
Applying for the electronic visa is simple and will save people the time they would have spent queueing at airports and embassies. All you need to apply is a passport valid for at least 6 months, an email address at which to receive the eVisa, and a credit or debit card with which to pay the eVisa fee. You will need to take care when completing the eVisa form, as all of the information on your application must perfectly match with your passport data. You will also be asked other basic questions such as your address, your travel history, and whether you have ever been convicted of a crime.
The wealthiest of the South Caucasus countries, Azerbaijan has much to offer visitors.
It’s capital Baku lies on the Caspian Sea and offers a fascinating mix of old and new. Attractions include the Fire Temple, which was a place of worship for both the Hindu and Zoroastrian religions, and the spectacular Flame Towers skyscraper complex, which offers an impressive light display. Away from the city, the Gobustan National Park is home to petroglyphs dating back to the 10th Millennium BC.
The easiest way to visit the country is with the Azerbaijan eVisa, a hassle-free way to apply for a visa online. Once granted, a copy of the Azerbaijan eVisa can then easily be printed at home. Check visa requirements to see whether your country is one of those which can apply for the eVisa.
