New Zealand eTA for Hong Kong Citizens

An eTA for New Zealand for Hong Kong passport holders is a multiple–entry online visa waiver.

It allows a total stay of 3 months in the country per visit.

The NZeTA for Hong Kong citizens is valid for up to 2 years from the date of issue. You can use it to visit New Zealand as many times as you like within this period of validity — without needing a visa.

Before Hong Kong citizens can apply for a New Zealand eTA, they must first gather the required documents. These include:

• A valid passport: Every traveler must have a valid Hong Kong passport that does not expire for at least 3 months after the visit to New Zealand.
• A photo of the applicant (passport-style)
• A valid email address: This email address will be used to receive all notifications regarding the traveler’s eTA.
• Form of payment: To pay the visa waiver processing fee, applicants must use a valid debit or credit card.

New Zealand Immigration stipulates that any traveler who wishes to enter the country on an eTA may also be asked to show proof of sufficient funds. This means either 1,000 NZD for each month while staying in New Zealand, or 400 NZD if the traveler has already pre-booked their accommodations ahead of time. Border officials may also ask travelers for proof of onward travel to their next destination or back home.

Once the applicant has the necessary documentation, they will need to fill out the quick New Zealand eTA online application for Hong Kong citizens.

The following details are required:

• Personal information (first and last name, date of birth)
• Passport information (passport number, date of issue, date of expiry)
• Contact information (home address, email address)

There is also a section that asks travelers to answer a few questions about criminal history and their plans for visiting New Zealand.

It is also necessary to pay the application fee, which includes both the eTA fee and the NZ International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL). Travelers can do so by using a valid form of payment, such as a credit card or debit card.

The form can be filled out from any internet-enabled device, such as a smartphone or computer, and the whole process takes less than 30 minutes to complete.

Travelers who are visiting New Zealand with children or family members should note that every individual in your group must fill out their own application form (even if the family member is under your passport).

After travelers have filled out their application, they are advised to double–check the form to make sure the information is accurate and matches the details of their passport. Any errors, missing fields, or incorrect information may result in a delay of the traveler’s New Zealand eTA, or even a denial.
