Lesotho E-Visa Information

The Lesotho E-Visa is an electronic visa introduced in May 2017 to expedite the process of applying for a visa for Lesotho for short stays for tourism, business, to study, or for diplomatic purposes. It eliminates the need to wait in long border queues to submit a Lesotho visa on arrival application or visit an embassy in person to obtain a travel document.

To apply for an electronic Lesotho visa, it is necessary to fill in a simple online Lesotho visa application, which can be completed in just a few minutes by supplying basic personal, passport, and travel information.

It is also necessary to upload a few supporting documents, which vary depending on the type of Lesotho travel visa required, and to pay a mandatory processing fee to submit a Lesotho visa application form online.

Once a Lesotho online visa application has been processed and approved, usually within 72 hours, the traveler receives their approved E-Visa for Lesotho sent to a current email address. They can then print a copy to present upon arrival at border checkpoints in the country.

A Lesotho E-Visa may be issued for either a single entry, which permits a stay of 44 days and is valid for 90 days from issue, or for multiple entries. The multiple-entry online visa is valid for a total of 180 days from approval.

Travelers who wish to visit the country for longer periods of stay, or who need to obtain another visa type such as a Lesotho work visa, are advised to contact the nearest Lesotho embassy or consulate for further information.
