What is a Japan eVISA for Philippine Nationals?
The Japan eVISA is an electronic visa that grants the holder entry to Japan for purposes of tourism.
The eVISA allows the holder a single entry stay in Japan for up to 90 days. It is valid to enter Japan for 3 months from the day after approval. It only permits entry by air.
The Japan eVISA was originally offered to passport holders from the People’s Republic of China. However, it was then made available to citizens of certain other eligible nations, including Filipino citizens, if they are resident in select countries.
Do I Need an eVISA to Travel to Japan as a Filipino?
The Japan eVISA is only available to Filipino passport holders if they hold permanent residence in one of the following countries:

Filipino travelers who are not resident in these countries, visiting for reasons other than tourism, not arriving by air, or wishing to stay in Japan longer are not eligible to apply for the eVISA. They should contact their local Japanese embassy or consulate for further information.
How Can I Apply for a Japan eVISA as a Citizen of the Philippines?
The application procedure for a Japan eVISA for Filipinos is straightforward. The online form takes just a few minutes to fill out. It can be completed from any device with an internet connection.
You should ensure you have all the correct paperwork and information with you when you fill in the application. This is to avoid mistakes and speed up the process of application to ensure there are no problems.
When filling in the form, you will require:
- A valid Filipino passport. It should have at least 6 months’ validity from the date of your trip to Japan.
- A photograph of yourself, passport.style, taken in the last 6 months.
