Chile eVisa Information

The Chile eVisa, named E-Vistur, is an online visa system, expected to be implemented by the government of Chile in May 2020, which will allow eligible citizens to obtain travel authorization for short stays in Chile.

The Chilean government is implementing the online Chile visa to expedite the process of applying for a Chile tourist visa or a Chile business visa and eliminate the need to apply in person at an embassy or consulate.

The Chile visa online will first be available to citizens of Australia, replacing the previous visa on arrival system and reciprocity fee that Australian travelers were obliged to use to enter Chile.

An approved online Chile travel visa will be valid for a stay of up to 90 days in the country. It is also expected that eVisa holders will be able to extend the eVisa for an additional 90-day stay once in Chile.

Eligible citizens will be able to apply for an eVisa for Chile through the simple Chile visa application online.

It is expected that applicants will be able to complete the Chile visa application form in just a few minutes with basic personal, passport, and travel information, to receive an approved eVisa sent via email.

Those who wish to visit Chile for purposes and periods of stay not permitted with the Evisa should contact the nearest Chilean consulate or embassy for further information.
