HKSAR Pre-Arrival Registration Requirements for Taiwan Residents
Taiwanese nationals may apply online for a PAR for Hong Kong if they meet the following criteria:
- The visitor was born in Taiwan, has right of abode in Taiwan, or has previously been allowed to enter the HKSAR as a resident of Taiwan.
- The visitor’s only passport was issued by Taiwan
Taiwanese citizens must not be in possession of any travel documents issued by other sovereign states in order to obtain the PAR.
The only exceptions to this are the “Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents” issued by the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and the Entry Permit issued by the Immigration Department of the HKSAR.
Once the applicant receives the approved PAR by email, they should print off the approved Pre-arrival Registration Notification Slip on a blank sheet of A4 paper.
This slip is required when boarding a flight to Hong Kong and must be presented to a Hong Kong border control official upon arrival in the HKSAR.
